So i finally got a morning to myself so I thought i'd use it wisely and take myself off to a exhibition and what better than the Damien Hirst exhibition at the Tate.
The exhibition is the first major survey of Hirst's work to be held in London. It provides you with the opportunity to trace the development in his career and to experience some of his iconic work. The general theme running throughout the exhibition is life and death.
Each part of the exhibition is divided into different sections to show off his different creative visions. My favourite room was room seven. As I found the whole installation with the maggots transforming into flies who then eat the cows head corpse, before flying into the electrical lights and dying marvellous! It really was a true yet raw demonstration of the life cycle.
Here is a selection of his work which is also exhibited, however you couldn't take pictures on the sly so Ive taken them from his website. It just gives you an example of what to expect if you didn't know....
Now this diamond skull was the most spectacular thing Ive ever seen in my entire life, costing fifty million pounds to make. I need it on my finger. Ill marry no man until I have it on my finger...or on my shoulder but then id need two to even it out!
