The shoulder Piece.....

So it was the start of a new week and a new fashion request, requested from none other than Anna Trevelyan, who works alongside Nicola Formichetti, who happens to be a close friend of Mr Nobles!
She had as for a collar to be made for an upcoming shoot based around a regal theme, made up of cream and golds, with inspiration coming from the Queens Jubilee, which would go on the front cover of "Stylist" magazine, the supplement which comes with the Times newspaper.
The Collar piece Alex design was made up of a huge collar, with a metal fan on the inside lined with ostrich feathers. It had two raised disks on each shoulder also covered in ostrich feathers and fringing. It was all held together with masses of gold chain and strings of pearls. Along with Pearl embellishment on each of the discs.
The collar piece was all made by hand so I was on hand to assist Alex with this. I had to hand stick the fabric to the discs which featured on the shoulders. They were wicker disks used for millinery covered in cream taffeta and gold lace, I also had to attach the embellishment to these. The metal fan which featured inside the collar was gold metal used for model making. I had do fold this into the fan shape and sew it into the back of the collar before lining it in ostrich feathers. I also had to attach the disks to the shoulders, then we applied all the chains and pearls. It was so exciting to see it all come together because the end result was rather FABULOUS!!
Just before I left the studio on Friday night Anna called Alex once again to request a cream chiffon toga to me made, I believe it was a long night for Alex as it was to be shot the following Monday.
Here is a few samples of the things I did, as I can't post the finished masterpiece until it has been shot.
